Just wanted to let you know that I am SOOOOO
happy with my Gyps! Rode her today and she
did awesome. I ride her in a hackamore on
the buckle and she just gaits along.
Probably the easiest horse I've ever
ridden. Don't need to push her on or worry
about her taking off, yet she responds
instantly when I ask. Going downhill she
balances herself and keeps right on gaiting
over any terrain I've sent her over. Talk
about automatic pilot!
Today we had a bunch of weird stuff to pass,
including the head and hide of a slaughtered
steer and she kept right on going...maybe
checking it out as we passed, but no
spooking or balking. I cannot tell you how
nice that is, especially for such a young,
spirited horse. You can't put a price on a
good mind and she has that, in spades!
Will take Cadence out tomorrow. I love him
just as much, he's just a little more
complicated to ride. Needs to be collected
to stay in his gait right now, but we're
working on it (I think he likes to take a
hold of the bit anyway, makes him feel more
secure with the contact) and he's a little
balky about leaving home and his herd.
Other than that, NO problems. His
temperament is sweet and gentle and he can
sure cover some ground! And, HANDSOME!
If you ever get down this way, please stop
by and visit your babies!
