Vernon Pacovsky, 87, of Bainville,
Montana, passed away Sunday night, November 29,
2015, at the Roosevelt Medical Center in
Culbertson, Montana.
A memorial service celebrating
Vernon’s life will be held Monday afternoon,
December 7, 2015, at 2:00 PM (Mountain Time) at
the Bainville High School Gymnasium in Bainville,
MT. Rev. Lane Vanetta and Rev. Neil Knudsen will
officiate and interment of the cremated remains
will follow in the Bainville Cemetery.

Vernon John Pacovsky was born
December 18, 1927 in St. Leo’s Hospital in
Lewistown, MT (the exact center of MT). The son
of Joe and Anna (Piscak) Pacovsky.
Vernon’s first 3 years of school
was in Roy, starting 1st grade at age five. He
attended Monforton Country School west of
Bozeman, Gallatin County High School in Bozeman
during WWII and Montana State College in Bozeman
(now MSU).
Vernon started teaching
vocational agriculture at Culbertson and
Bainville in 1949-50, ½ day in each place each
day. He organized and started 2 Vo-Ag
departments and a FFA chapters at once, which
had never been done before or since in Montana,
all without the help of computers. He also
organized and taught Institutional on Farm
Training in Bainville from 1950-51. (A class of
WWII veterans all older, smarter and more
experienced than the teacher).
He was united in marriage to
Virginia Mae Robinson in Glasgow, MT on July 10,
1951 and moved at once to Bozeman to help on the
farm as his dad had been injured in a car
accident. He worked through the winter as a
farm/ranch hired hand for a neighbor.
Vernon loved hunting and fishing.
He held the state record for white Bass on 3
different occasions. Vernon taught Hunters
safety for 35 years. He liked to watch his
grandchildren and great grandchildren play
sports.
Vernon and Virginia moved to
Plentywood, MT and taught Vo-Ag from 1952-54.
Michael was born in Williston May 7, 1953.
Vernon and his family moved back to Bainville at
the end of the school term to be near Dora
McBrien and daughters, Pat and Debbie.
Vernon taught Vo-Ag, plus some
math and science classes and for several years
was the High School Principle in Bainville,
again from 1954-80. He then drove school bus
another 11 years.
Mark Edward was born June 2, 1956
and Teresa Lynn was born on August 14, 1959.
Virginia died of an apparent
massive coronary on May 24, 1969. Vernon then
married Ella Marie (Halverson) Romo on June 4,
1971. Ella passed away February 18, 2003.
Vernon was a man of great
integrity.
Vernon is survived by his two
sons, Michael Pacovsky and wife, DeAnna of
Plains, MT and Mark Pacovsky and wife, Shellie
of Bainville, MT; his daughter, Teresa Stockford
of Fargo, ND; his stepsons, Lawrence Romo and
wife, Judy, Dale Romo and his wife Rochelle, Lee
Romo and his wife, Terrie and Alan Romo and
wife, Rayne all of Bainville, MT; 21
grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; a
sister, Patty Vander Vos and her husband, Herman
of Bozeman, MT.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Joe and Anna; infant daughter; his
wife, Virginia and his second wife, Ella; his
brothers, Joe and Gerald Pacovsky; and 1
grandson.
